SKILLS
Having received his training at the prestigious universities of Cornell and UCSF, Dr. Ali is the only MFM/Geneticist in the entire Sacramento area. Dr. Ali brings new skills to the Greater Sacramento area such as performing chorionic villous sampling (CVS), fetal blood sampling, and intrauterine fetal blood transfusion. 

ACADEMIC APPOINTMENTS
Dr. Ali currently serves as an assistant professor in the Departments of Obstetrics & Gynecology at both the University of California Davis School of Medicine, and California Northstate College of Medicine. Dr. Ali was previously an assistant professor at The George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences, and served as as a clinical instructor at Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine. 

RESEARCH & PUBLICATION
Dr. Ali specializes in high-risk pregnancies and has done extensive research in non-invasive prenatal testing, hereditary disorders and fetal anomalies. He has also published several manuscripts, abstracts and peer-reviewed publications in journals such as such as Prenatal Diagnosis, Clinics in Perinatology and The Journal of Reproductive Medicine. Dr. Ali is embedded in his professional community as a member of the following organizations: The International Society for Prenatal Diagnosis, The International Society for Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology, The American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine, The Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine, The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, and the American College of Medical Genetics and Genomics.

EDUCATION
Dr. Ali graduated magna cum laude in 2005 and received a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from the University of Alexandria Faculty of Medicine in Egypt. He has also earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from SC Johnson School of Business at Cornell University. Dr. Ali completed his residency in obstetrics and gynecology from the University of Toledo, a fellowship in medical genetics from the University of California, San Francisco, and a fellowship in maternal-fetal medicine from Cornell University.
